Tanja Weil

Max Planck Institute for Polymer Research

Tanja Weil has been Director at the Max Planck Institute for Polymer Research (MPIP) since 2017. She studied chemistry (1993-1998) at the TU Braunschweig and the University of Bordeaux I and received her PhD 2002 from MPIP. From 2002-2008, she held management positions at Merz Pharmaceuticals before she moved to the National University of Singapore as Associate Professor in 2008. From 2010-2016, she was Director of the Institute of Organic Chemistry III at Ulm University. Tanja Weil has received the Otto Hahn Medal, a Synergy Grant of the ERC, the Science Award of the City of Ulm, the Netherlands Supramolecular Chemistry Scholar Award and the Karl Ziegler Award. Tanja is enthusiastic about supramolecular biomaterials and material-cell communication.
