Nino Haase

After earning his high school diploma in 2002, Nino Haase took up studying chemistry at Johannes Gutenberg-University Mainz and graduated in 2009 with top grades. After graduation, he worked as a member of research staff at the Max-Planck-Institute in Mainz from 2009 until 2011. For a brief period, he worked as a trainee at local radio station ANTENNE MAINZ, where he hosted a radio show, before returning to university in 2013 to work at Augsburg University. In 2016, Haase left university to found start-up company Thesius, which provides scientific research data to students. He then worked as managing director at Hygreen GmbH in Mainz from 2020 to 2023. In February 2023, Haase ran for Mayor of Mainz and won the election. He was inaugurated on March 22nd 2023.
