Magdalena Skipper

Dr. Magdalena Skipper is Editor-in-Chief of Nature and Chief Editorial Advisor for the Nature Portfolio. She trained as a geneticist and earned her doctorate at the University of Cambridge, United Kingdom. She has extensive experience in editing and publishing, having served, among other roles, as Editor-in-Chief of Nature Reviews Genetics, Senior Editor for genetics and genomics at Nature, and Editor-in-Chief of Nature Communications. Mentoring, research integrity, and collaboration and inclusion in research are issues of particular importance to her. To support underrepresented groups in research, she co-initiated the Nature Research Inspiring Science Award for early-career women researchers in 2018.
