John Gyapong

John Gyapong is Professor of Clinical Epidemiology and the Vice Chancellor of the University of Health and Allied Sciences in Ghana. He studied medicine in Ghana and Epidemiology at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, University of London.He has practised as a doctor in many parts of Ghana and rose to become the Director of Research and Development of the Ghana Health Services and Director the Neglected Diseases Control Programme. His main area of research is infectious disease epidemiology, especially neglected tropical diseases. He contributes to global health dialogue on NTDs through various platforms and has over 120 publications in peer-reviewed journals and an edited book on Neglected Tropical Diseases in sub-Saharan Africa.
